Die Hochsommermonate Juli und August sollte man am besten meiden, denn dann ist es in Florenz oft unerträglich heiß und die Aussicht, in stickigen Museen umherzutrotten, nicht gerade verlockend. Im Juli liegen die Temperaturen meist bei 35°C. Die beste Besuchszeit ist der frühe Herbst, wenn die Toskana in reifer Fruchtbarkeit erstrahlt und man die Hitze und Menschenmengen vermeiden, dafür aber das weiche Licht, die leeren Straßen, das Angebot an wilden Pilzen und das frisch gepresste Olivenöl genießen kann. Wer die Stadt im Januar erkunden will, kann mit durchschnittlich milden 5°C rechnen.
