Studies have suggested that up to 40% of people have some degree of anxiety about flying. For the 6.5% who suffer high levels of anxiety or phobia, it can lead to putting off holidays or visits to family members who live far away, pouring over road maps or bus and train schedules, or even worse, being forced to stay at home.
